From Trash to Toy Treasures Made of Cardboard

For many generations, some of the most simplest of toys have been among the most favorite of children everywhere. When people couldn't afford new toys, they just got a little creative and made their own. That was just the way it was. Now days I suppose people have many different reasons for making their own toys. There are many toys on the market today that are made with such harsh materials that parents just don't want to exposure their children to those types of toys. So they are looking for eco-friendly toys for their children to play with.

Making toys out of cardboard is so easy and simple. You can use cardboard to make nearly any kind of toy you can think of. For example a cell phone, tools (like hammer or saw), kitchen appliances (box made to be a stove or refrigerator) and playhouses. The only supplies you'll need is cardboard, some heavy duty scissors, and a pen or markers. Your kids can even join in to help make the toy. When it is done, I guarantee your child will have hours of enjoyment no matter how basic they look.

If you are not the creative type, many retail stores now carry toys made of cardboard. We at Text Message Baby now carry a line of eco-friendly toys by Green Town Toys that are made of cardboard. From tables to playhouses, to eco-friendly castle with cut-outs, these "green" toys are affordable and easy to stow away once kids are finished playing with them. Let's face it... children can be pretty rough on their toys. With toys made of cardboard, you don't have to worry if they get destroyed. Just place them in your recycle bin and feel guilt-free.
